Bo Frye named Roughriders next head football coach.

Bo Frye has been named the coach for St. Marys, replacing his father Doug Frye.

Bo Frye played for the Roughriders, and was a member of the 2004 team that finished as the Division III state runner up to Cleveland Benedictine. He rushed for 120 yards in that game and also caught one pass for 18 yards. He was a first-team all-Ohio selection at running back in 2005.

After playing for Northern Michigan University and St. Francis University, he joined his father’s coaching staff.

Frye has served as offensive coordinator for his father for 10 seasons, three at Wapakoneta and seven at St. Marys.

St. Marys has qualified for the playoffs each of the past five years, and reached the state semifinals in 2018. Last season, St. Marys finished the season with a record of 6-3, with only six games being played in the regular season due to COVID.
