Tuesday Area Sports Round-Up

LIMA — The St. Marys track team had four individual wins at a tri-meet at Shawnee on Tuesday.

The Roughrider boys finished second with 38.5 points. Celina won with 101 points. Shawnee was third with 35.5 points.

The Celina girls won with 85 points, Shawnee was second (52 points) and St. Marys finished third (38 points). St. Marys’ Amanda Dues won the girls 1600 meter run with a 5:37.44 time.

The Riders’ Kristen Dammeyer won the 3200 meter run with a 12:18.09 time.

On the boys side, Luke Lemmerman took the win in the 110 meter hurdles with a 16.06-second time. Brennan Brown won the 300 meter hurdles with a 41.41-second time.

Rangers have 12 wins at Anna quad

ANNA — The New Knoxville track team competed in a quad meet on Tuesday at Anna with 12 event victories.

The Rangers’ Haley Horstman  and Andrew Mackie turning in a three event wins for the Rangers.

Horstman won the long jump, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles for the Rangers and scored in the 200 meter dash for the Rangers. Cassie Boyle won the 200 meter dash and finished second in the mile. Hannah Privette won the 3200 meter run and scored in the 1600 meter run.

On the boys side Mackie led the way with wins in the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash and the 400 meter dash. He also took second in the high jump. Isaac Kuntz won the high jump and the 3200 meter run. Kuntz finished second in the 1600 meter run and was a member of the 3200 meter relay team that scored. P.J. Kiernan won the 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles. Kiernan was third in the long jump. Parker Stone won the pole vault.

: The St. Marys boys tennis team won its second straight match with a 4-1 victory over Defiance on Tuesday. St. Marys’ Cole Brooks won at first singles over Nolan Parsons, 6-4, 7-5. Jason Freewalt won second singles against Defiance’s Michael Dineman, 6-0, 6-0. The Riders’ Nick Rohr defeated Defiance’s David Zedeker, 6-1, 6-1 at third singles. The Defiance first doubles team of Evan Bates and Samuel Giofferia defeated St. Marys’ team of Kevin Dammeyer and Zac Nelson, 0-6, 7-5, 6-2. St. Marys’ Noah Hartsock and Justin Nedderman won second doubles, 6-2, 6-2. St. Marys improved to 7-6. The Riders travel to Wapakoneta on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. for a WBL match.
