Stand-off Leads To Arrest

A New Bremen man was taken into custody following a stand-off with police this morning.
At approximately 2:46 a.m. today, the New Bremen Police Department was dispatched to 249 E. Monroe St. on a report of a male subject who allegedly made threats to harm himself and law enforcement officials. New Bremen Police Chief Mike Skinner said the subject was taken into custody at 4:28 a.m. following several hours of negotiations.
"He barricaded himself inside the residence," Skinner said. "He was tased."
Skinner said weapons were recovered from the residence. Charges are pending and Skinner declined to reveal the name of the subject at this time.
Officers from Minster and St. Marys police departments, deputies from the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office and the county's SRT team assisted at the scene.
