St. Marys track competes at Redskin Relays

WAPAKONETA — The St. Marys boys and girls track teams competed at the Wapakoneta Redskin Invitational on Friday at Harmon Field.

The Roughrider girls finished eighth in the 10-team event with 19 points while the Rider boys took ninth with 21 points.

The Ottawa-Glandorf boys and girls swept the titles. Full results:

Boys: The St. Marys 440 meter shuttle hurdle team of Luke Lemmerman, Cam Swanson, David Slife and Brennan Brown turned in Riders’ best finish of the evening with a  second-place time of 1:07.06.

The St. Marys 400 meter relay team of Lemmerman, Will Walter, Neil Perry and Swanson finished third (46.06).

The St. Marys 800 meter relay team of Lemmerman, Walter, Brown and Det Mines finished fifth (1:36.85), as did the 800 meter sprint medley team of Brown, Walter, Lemmerman and Mines (1:41.66).

St. Marys’ Johnathan Vogel tied for seventh individually in the high jump (5-6).

Girls: A trio of St. Marys girls teams finished fourth.  The Roughrider 3200 meter relay team of Marissa Schrolucke, Lexi Grothause, Megan Hertenstein and Amanda Dues took fourth (10:49.63), as did the 400 meter shuttle hurdle team of Bailey Gottschalk, Lexi Grothause, Makala Buehler and Kami Menchhofer (1:14.32) and the distance medley team (10:27.25).

Fifth-place finishes came from the 400 meter relay team of Bailey Gottschalk, Stephanie Evans, Courtney Christman and Makayla Buehler (53.39) along with the 6400 meter relay team of Megan Hertenstein,  Marissa Schrolucke, Hannah Tobin and Rochelle Sudman (25:10.98).

Mariah Heffner finished sixth overall in the discus throw (99-1).
