In the beginning of the 2016 fall season, one of the goals of the St. Marys girls' cross-country team was to get the entire team to state competition in Hebron after falling just short in regionals a season ago and having Kelly Wilker compete on her own.

With one meet left in the season, the Roughriders' goal has come true.

With a fourth-place overall finish as a team in regional competition on Saturday, led by Wilker's third-place overall finish, the St. Marys girls' cross-country team will compete in Hebron together next weekend.

Wilker finished with a time of 19:33.12 to lead St. Marys in Division II competition in Tiffin.

The Minster Wildcats girls team is also moving on after winning the Division III meet with a top team score of 41, led freshman Emma Watcke (19:22.17, 4th) and Kaitlynn Albers (19:24.27, 5th) as Minster had seven runners finish in the top 30 times overall.

New Bremen's Bailey Bronkema finished with a time of 20:20.69 to finish her season at 29th overall.

The Minster boys team finished ninth overall to end their season.
