St. Marys, Minster bowling teams open season with wins

The St. Marys girls varsity bowling team kicked off their season with a 2330-1805 victory over Lima Temple Christian on Saturday at Plaza Lanes in Celina.

Kristen Dammeyer led the Roughriders with games of 200 and 188 for a 388.

Paige Keysor added a 320 with games of 166 and 154. Drew Houser had games of 153 and 145. Abby Smith had games of 154 and 131 for a 285. Serena Rockwood added a game of 147 and Faith Monin had a 114.

St. Marys won all five Baker games over the Pioneers. St. Marys improves to 1-0 and will play Mississinawa Valley on Saturday at Pla-Mor Lanes in Coldwater at 9:45 a.m.

Boys Bowling
ST. MARYS 2269, ANSONIA 1763:  The St. Marys boys bowling team earned an opening victory over Ansonia 2269-1763 on Saturday in Celina. Collin Vandever led the Roughriders with games of 170 and 177 for a 347. Austin Cook bowled games of 131 and 171 for a 302. Hunter Murphy bowled games of 117 and 179 for a 296, Ben Tuttle bowled a 139 and a 148 for a 287, and Alex Now had games of 123 and 147 for a 270.

COLDWATER 2753, NEW BREMEN 2035: Kira Irick led New Bremen with games of 160 and 143 for a 303, Taylor Anderson had games of 160 and 135 for a 295, Alycia Quellhorst bowled games of 162 and 121 for a 283, Megan Brookhart bowled games of 126 and 110 for a 236 and Danielle Michael bowled games of 88 and 135 for a 223. Paige Hartings led Coldwater with a 447.

MINSTER 2112, VAN WERT 1595:  Minster rolled to a victory over the Cougars behind the 310 two-game totals from Sara Hosey and Shelby Wente. Katie Thieman bowled a 290, Megan Kaiser had a 261, Alex Sharp had a 156 in her one game and Rachel Wehrman added a 124 in her one game bowled.

MINSTER 2570, NEW BREMEN 2005:  The Minster boys bowling team began its season off on the right foot with a victory over rival New Bremen. Jon Tipton led Minster with games of 204 and 201 for a team-best 405. Gunner Blanke bowled a 209 and 178 for a 387, Matt Biederman had games of 183 and 203 for a 386, Fred Purdy had games of 158 and 170 for a 328. Alex Winner bowled a 171 in his one game. Jake Davidson led New Bremen with games of 141 and 171 for a 312. Cody Springer bowled a 171 and 123 for a 294, Jacob O’Neill had a 167 and a 120 for a 287, Tyler Hingle 121 and 129 for a 250, and Isaac Kosch had games of 78 and 125 for a 203.
