The road to repeat a state appearance for Jill Schmitmeyer started on Thursday and will continue next week.

The St. Marys' junior golfer was the medalist at the Division II sectional girls golf tournament at the Celina Lynx Golf Course on Tuesday with a 75.

The top three teams and top three individual scores that are not on a qualifying team move on to districts at Sycamore Springs in Arlington on Monday.

Joining Schmitmeyer are St. Henry (379), Lincolnview (386) and Minster (390).

The Wildcats were led by Hannah Koenig, who shot an 87 on a windy day.

Sarah Huwer finished with a 98 and Taylor Homan carded in a 99.

Lisa Broges (106) and Ali Borgerding (120) also competed for the Wildcats on Tuesday.

Schmitmeyer — then a sophomore — made it to state last year after shooting an 81 at Arlington.
