Saturday Night Playoff Football Scoreboard

Local Scores

Division IV at BGSU's Doyt-Perry Stadium

Kenton 32, Genoa Area 22

BOWLING GREEN -- Genoa led 9-8 at the half, but Kenton quarterback Maty Mauk's legs proved to be too much.

Mauk rushed for 204 yards on 11 carries with three touchdowns to lead Kenton to another playoff win and put the state's top ranked team at 12-0 for the season.

Kenton now faces Bishop Hartley next Saturday night at Mansfield.

Division VI at BGSU's Doyt-Perry Stadium

Delphos St. John's 35, Tiffin Calvert 0

BOWLING GREEN -- The Blue Jays eclipsed 400 total yards and ran roughshod over Tiffin Calvert in a Saturday afternoon playoff win at Doyt-Perry Stadium.

Delphos St John's now plays Leipsic next Saturday night at Findlay's Donnell Stadium.

Division VI at Lima Stadium

Maria Stein Marion Local 41, Ada 14

LIMA -- Marion Local used the pass and scored 35 straight points in the middle of the game to burst past Ada in a Division VI regional semifinal at Lima Stadium on Saturday night.

Marion Local quarterback Adam Bertke completed 16-of-25 passes for 313 yards and four touchdowns.

"That is what it came down to tonight," Marion Local head coach Tim Goodwin said. "We figured their strategy was to run the 5-3, cover-zero and play straight man and that is what we work on all the time. When somebody does that we have to be good enough on the outside so we can get them out of it."

Dylan Thobe caught all four touchdowns for the Flyers, who now advance to play Minster next Saturday night.

The Flyer defense limited Ada standout quarterback Conner Baker to 17-of-42 passing for 214 yards.

"Going into the game the thing we needed to do was keep them off the field," Ada head coach Mike Fell said. "We thought if we didn't let them drive the ball up and down teh field on us we would havve a chance. We thought we would be able to score, but their defense did a great job on us."

Marion Local faces Minster next Saturday night at Wapakoneta.
