Caleb James Signs With Defiance College

St. Marys senior soccer player Caleb James will continue his career on the pitch after signing his national letter of intent to play at Defiance College next year on Thursday at St. Marys Memorial High School.

 

During his senior season, James — who is going to the liberal arts school to stauyd marketing — scored on eight goals and collected six assists during the Roughriders' 12-3-1 overall season.

 

James' junior season was good enough to produce Third-Team All-Western Buckeye League honors with his six goals and eight assists.

 

For his career, James scored 18 goals and 17 assists while being a four-time letter winner in the St. Marys' boys' soccer program under the direction of Dave Ring.

 

The Yellow Jackets are led by Jordan Valentine — a third-year coach and seventh head coach in the Division III program's history. He was previously at Penn State-New Kensington. 

 

Defiance was 5-9-4 last season and play in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC). The school's enrollment is 1,000 students. 

 

James will study marketing.
