Armella Ann (Bills) Steinke, 82

Armella Ann (Bills) Steinke, 82, formerly of Eastview Drive, Fort Loramie, passed away of natural causes Saturday morning, Oct. 15, 2011, at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney.

She was born on April 5, 1929, in Chickasaw, to Anthony and Leona (Boeke) Bills, and they preceded him in death.

On Oct. 27, 1951, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Chickasaw, Armella married Charles Steinke, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2011.

She is survived by five sons, Robert Steinke of Fort Loramie, Roger (Lisa) Steinke of New Bremen, Michael (Annette) Steinke of St. Louis, Mo., Thomas Paul Steinke of Chillum and Mark (Lisa) Steinke of Sidney; 15 grandchildren, Renee and Todd Mescher, Tracy and Brian Schulze, Brett and Jennifer Steinke, Jennifer and AJ Eilerman, Chris, Jonathan, Ashley, Nathan, Todd  Sarah, Eric, Kelly, Kym, Tyler, Madison, Kelli, Aaron and Katie; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verena (Rich) Langenkamp of St. Henry and Joan (Ben) Post of St. Wendelin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Norb Kramer of Chickasaw, Millie Steinke of Tipp City, Esther and Tim Mattingly of Dayton, Alma and Len Clune of Minster, Paul and Marge Steinke of Tipp City and Jesse and Shirley Steinke of Coldwater.

She was preceded in death by one son, Brian Steinke; two brothers, Lester and Cyril Bills; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice Kramer, Clara, Jim and Lilly Steinke.

Mrs. Stienke attended St. Michael Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Ann’s Ladies Sodality.

A homemaker, Armella was family oriented and devoted great care to her faith and children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie, with the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.

Memorials may be made to the Institute of the Incarnate Word (in care of Brother Tom) or to charity of donor’s choice.
