2 Die In Motorcycle Crash

Two people died in a motorcycle crash on Ohio 364 Sunday night.
According to a report from the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers responded to a crash at 10:25 p.m. Sunday on Ohio 364 south of Greenville Road. Andrew Makley, 21, of New Bremen, was driving a 2008 Kawaski motorcycle with a passenger, Jessica Ginter, 15, of St. Marys. Makley was driving north on Ohio 364 when he traveled off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole. Both occupants were ejected from the motorcycle and the vehicle sustained heavy, disabling damage.
Makley and Ginter were not wearing helmets and both were pronounced dead at the scene by Auglaize County Coroner Thomas Freytag. Alcohol use is unknown at this time. Excessive speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
St. Marys Township Fire Department, St. Marys Fire Department and the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
