Vera I. Nolan, 95, of 1811 Kishler Drive, St. Marys, died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at the St. Marys Living Center.
She was born on June 17, 1918, in Wells County, Ind., the daughter of Wilbert and Della (Zuercher) Beer.
She married Richard Nolan on Sept. 21, 1940, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1983.
She is survived by her three daughters, Rita (Thomas) Wilson of Elida, Patti (Ken) Loughrige-Gelhaus, of Celina, Jean (Alan) Rohrbacher, of Elida.
She is survived by nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one sister, Lucille Clem of Decatur, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Glenn Beer; Harriet Beer; Margie Buick; Verna Feasal; Agnes Beer; Chester Beer; Arthur Beer; Gerald Beer; Dale Beer and Melvena Hirschy.
Mrs. Nolan was a homemaker. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She truly was a Christian example to all that knew her.
She was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St. Marys, and its Women’s Society.
She was also a member of the St. Marys Senior Citizens and Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She had previously been employed at Bi-Rite in St. Marys. She enjoyed bowling with her friends and she liked to sew and quilt.
Funeral rites will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, the Rev. Steve Weatherly, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Saint Marys.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
Friends may also call one hour prior to the funeral rites on Tuesday.
