The Grand Lake St. Marys area and the area’s leagues had numerous players named to the Associated Press Northwest All-District lists released on Thursday night.
St. Marys junior Isaac Fitzgerald and Roughrider sophomore Nathan Wilker both received special mention all-district honors.
Celina’s Ryan Hoyng, a 6-3 junior who averaged 20.3 points per game, was named Second Team all-district. Logan Delong and Mason Ross of Celina were both special mention.
Elida’s Dakota Mathias was named Player of the Year in Division II. The 6-5 senior averages 27.7 points per game. He was joined on the First Team by Defiance’s Trey Guilliam (17.0 ppg) and Bath’s Taren Sulllivan (20.9 ppg). Katwan Singleton of Defiance was a Third Team selection (12.1 ppg).
New Bremen’s Carson Manger and Ben Homan, Minster’s Brandon Hoying and Matthew Trushaw and New Knoxvile’s Andrew Arnett and Jalen Fullenkamp all received special mention all-district honors in Division IV.
Geoff Beans of Ottawa Hills was the Division IV player of the year in northwest Ohio. Jeremy Best of Crestview was coach of the year.
Fort Recovery senior Elijah Kahlig (22 ppg) was named to the First Team.
Luke Knapke of Marion Local (14.1 ppg) was a Second Team selection.
Ben Bowers, a Spencerville senior who averaged 13.1 points per game, was a Third Team selection.
Zach Goecke of Spencerville was a special mention player along with Marion Local’s Adam Bertke and Ryan Bruns.
