Clinton Thompson, 72, of Behm’s Landing, Celina, died at 11:25 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 11, 1941 in Lee County, Va.
He was the son of George C. and Laura (Smith) Thompson.
On May 19, 1990, under the arbor he made at their home, he married Lynne Harris, who survives.
Also surviving are his daughters Tresha (Dave) Backs, of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; Anessa (Mike) Stappleton of Madison, Ala., Sherri (Sean) Killingsworth, of Huber Heights; their adopted daughter Chris (Dave) Emmons of Dayton; and his brothers James Thompson, of Celina; and G.C. (Barb) Thompson of St. Marys.
Other survivors include his in laws, Niles Harris of Deadwood S.D., Sis Harris Coenen of Ketchikan, Alaska; and Trip (Wanda) Davis of Lima.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his brothers L.C. Thompson and Douglas Thompson, sisters Ruth (Rex) Parsons and Betty (Richard) Belden and his sister-in-laws Marge Thompson and Bette Harris Davis.
Mr. Thompson was a house siding installer, truly enjoying his job and never met a home he didn’t like.
He most recently had worked for Doyle Homes of Lima.
He enjoyed his home at Behms, fishing and supplying fish for the neighborhood fish fries.
Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen with the Rev. Rodney Ritchie officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.
