Tobias “Toby” Poppe, 39, of 15030 Ohio 116 in St. Marys, died at 4:22 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at The OSU Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born on July 30, 1973, in St. Marys, to Gary and Sherry (Storer) Poppe.
On Dec. 30, 2009, in Van Wert, he married Sherri Oleyar, who survives.
He is also survived by two children, Zaylan Oleyar and Zooey Poppe, both of St. Marys; sister Penny Poppe of St. Marys; two brothers, Tim Poppe of St. Marys and Ted (Cindy) Poppe of St. Marys; father-in-law Bruce (Emy) Oleyar of Edington, N.C.; mother-in-law Kimberly Oleyar of Pineville, La.; nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Poppe, who died on Feb. 3, 2013.
He was a 1992 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He was employed as the remote office manager of True-Fit Patterns and Tools.
His favorite pastimes included watching movies, outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
Rites are scheduled to begin 10:30 a.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys.
Burial will follow at ElmGrove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
