New Bremen sophomore Carson Manger was named Honorable Mention All-Ohio in Division IV. Manger led New Bremen to an 18-6 record and a 7-2 record in the Midwest Athletic Conference.
He averaged 14 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.8 assists per game.
The Associated Press released its list on Tuesday night, which was culled from recomendations of a media panel from around the state.
The Midwest Athletic Conference was well-represented on the lists.
St. Henry head coach Eric Rosenbeck was named co-coach of the year in Division IV along with Michael Bates of Africentric and Josh Sagester of New Madison Tri-Village.
Fort Recovery senior Wade Gelhaus was a Second Team selection in Division IV. Gelhaus averaged 19.7 points per game.
Kyle Stahl, a St. Henry senior joined him on the Second Team. He averaged 18.5 points per game. Delphos St. John’s Curtis Geise was a Second Teamer. He scored 20.4 points per game this season.
Elijah Kahlig of Fort Recovery was named Honorable Mention in Division IV.
In Division III, Ottawa-Glandorf’s T.J. Metzger earned First Team All-Ohio honors. Metzger scored 16.9 points per game, helping lead the Titans to this week’s state tournament.
Lima Central Catholic’s Martyce Kimbrough and Versailles’ Kyle Ahrens were Special Mention players, and O-G’s Michael Rosebrock was named Honorable Mention.
The Associated Press will name Mr. Basketball in the state on Wednesday in the lead-up to the start of the boys OHSAA state basketball championships on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
