Dewaine E. Byerley, 78, of St. Marys, died at 3:35 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at St. Marys Living Center.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1935, in Celina, to William A. and Florence M. (Cook) Byerley.
On Nov. 10, 1956, in St. Marys, he married Shirley "Shirt" Klosterman, who died on Sept. 7, 2008.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Barbara) Byerley of Middleburg, Fla.; a daughter, Beth (Steve) Reciniti of Oak Ridge, N.C.; two grandchildren, Greg Byerley of Middleburg, Fla. and Ashley Powers of Oak Ridge, N.C.; a brother William Baker of Celina.
He was preceded in death by parents William and Florence Byerley and by his wife, Shirley "Shirt" Byerley.
He was a graduate of Celina Senior High School (Class of 1953).
He was a retired driver for Duff Truck Lines in Lima. He was a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie #767 in St. Marys and Moose Lodge #1473 in Celina.An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Private family funeral rites were held.
In addition, a public memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Ohio 703 West Chapel, in St. Marys, the Rev. John Dodds, officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.
