Priscilla “Pat” Sekel, 83, of 708 Edward St. in St. Marys, died at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born on Dec. 23, 1929, in Kent, to Mark and Anna (Novak) Babarick.
On Aug. 28, 1954, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kent, she married Samuel D. Sekel, who survives.
She is also survived by a son, Stephen Sekel of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a daughter, Susan (Leon) Skowronski of Strongsville; two grandchildren, Matthew and Savanna Skowronski; a brother, Daniel Babarick of Kent.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Anna Babarick.
She was a 1947 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Kent and attended Kent State University.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Shakespeare Club, both in St. Marys.
An avid card player, she was skilled at the game of bridge. For a number of years, she volunteered for the Auglaize County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Miller – Long and Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys.
Additionally, there will be visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Bissler and Son Funeral Home in Kent.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kent, the Rev. Richard Pentello, V. F., celebrant.
Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
