Carl Gene Porter, 72, of 1025 Caterbury Drive in Celina, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born on Dec. 24, 1939, in Columbus, to Carl and Emily (Woods) Porter, who preceded him in death.
On June 18, 1966, he married Barbara Barnett, who lives in Celina.
Also surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Michelle Porter of Celina, Darren and Heather Porter of Celina, Todd and Lauren Porter of Bluffton; daughter and son-in-law Emily and Jeff Adams of Tipp City; six grandchildren.
He served his country as a sergeant in the Air Force National Guard during the Vietnam War.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina, the Rev. John Exman officiating.
Military honors will follow at the church following services.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina and one hour before services at the church on Monday.
American Legion Post membership services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
