Verona “Ronnie” (Schwenzer) (Vanderhorst) Farno , 92, of Minster, passed peacefully from her “life well lived” on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012.
She is survived by her children, Dan Vanderhorst (Judy) of Las Vegas, Nev., Joy Knopp (Bob) of St. Paul, Minn., and Mary Jackson (Dave) of Weatherford, Texas; Bernie’s children, Carol Weiland (Jim) of Dayton, John Farno (Diana) of Minster and Janie Perryman (Clif) of Perrysburg; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Harry Vanderhorst; her husband of 18 years, Bernie Farno.
We will all remember Ronnie in her recliner crocheting an afghan for one of her grandchildren with Muffy by her side. We will miss her infectious smile and her unreserved love of a good time with family and friends. Though her children and grandchildren scattered to the four winds, she was never reluctant to encourage them to follow their dreams.
For 25 years, she demonstrated her caring nature by volunteering at Joint Township Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 23 at St. Augustine’s Church in Minster.
Visitation will be held one hour before the Mass. After Mass, there will be a gathering at the Minster Eagles to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
