ST. MARYS 4, DEFIANCE 0: The St. Marys boys soccer team remained unbeaten after a 4-0 win at Defiance on Thursday night. The win pushed the Riders’ record to 7-0-2, 3-0-2 in Western Buckeye League play. Dylan Zink scored a pair of goals for the Roughriders. Zack Wilker and Nathan Wilker added a goal apiece for St. Marys. The Riders host Ottoville on Saturday night at 7 p.m. and then host Wapakoneta on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a WBL match.
CELINA 2, VAN WERT 1: Ryan Hoying and Eric Moeder scored goals and Celina won its first match of the season.
ST. MARYS 9, BRYAN 0: Molly Albert and Sklar Liming each scored two goals apiece and the St. Marys girls soccer team roared to a 9-0 win over the Bryan Golden Bears on Thursday. Tarin Tischler, Tannar Rutschilling, Sara Little , Colleen Magee and Kristen Dammeyer added a goal apiece in the non-league win that pushes the Riders’ record to 7-1-1. Kelly Heitkamp assisted three goals. Kayla Boysell had two assists. Sara Little, Albert and Bela Godinho each had one assist.
VERSAILLES 158, MINSTER 159: Versailles handed Minster its first MAC loss of the season, 158-159, on Thursday at Stillwater, and both teams will head into Saturday’s MAC championship meet at Arrowhead with matching 8-1 records. Minster’s John Burke and Versailles’ Tyler Drees each shot 37s to share medalist honors. Minster’s Austin Brackman and Xavier Francis each shot 40s. Freddie Purdie had a 42, Matt Trushaw shot a 44 and John Tumbusch had a 45. Versailles’ Alex Stucke and Ryan Knapke each had 40s. Mitchell Stover had a 41.
NEW BREMEN 173, NEW KNOXVILLE 195: Darin Bergman shot an even par 36 for medalist honors and the New Bremen boys golf team earned a 173-195 win over New Knoxville on Thursday. New Bremen is 7-2 in MAC play heading into Saturday’s MAC championship meet on Saturday at Arrowhead. New Bremen’s Alex Britton shot a 43, Aaron Hegemier had a 46 and Tyler Hagan had a 48 for the Cardinals. Tyler Shreve led New Knoxville with a 43. Michael Porter shot a 48, Jake Allen carded a 49 and Connor Samuel had a 55.
LCC 4, ST. MARYS 1: St. Marys’ Halie McGee and Abby Wilker earned the Riders’ lone victory at second doubles over LCC’s Jennifer Hudson and Natalie Agosto, 6-4, 6-2.
