M. Mildred “Millie” Noonan, 93, of 615 N. Augustus St., St. Marys, died at 1:20 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1919, in St. Marys, to John S. and Mary A. (Lemkuhl) Noonan, and they preceded her in death.
She is survived by a sister, Lucille Uhlenhake of St. Marys; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Noonan and Richard Noonan; two sisters, Virginia Noonan and Rosalie Drees.
She was a 1937 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.
She retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., where she worked as an executive secretary. Following her retirement, she volunteered for many years in the gift shop at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Altar-Rosary Sodality.
Her favorite pastime was sharing her fine soprano singing voice as a long-time member of her church choir.
In her younger years, she traveled extensively throughout the United States and even journeyed around the world in 1959.
Millie will be remembered as a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She loved music and movies and was never shy about sharing her opinions. She was a great conversationalist and teller of entertaining stories. Her outgoing personality was her greatest gift to those who knew and loved her.
A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys, with the Rev. Paul Wohlwend officiating and Deacon Martin Brown, homilist. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel), St. Marys.
