Rex Laffin, 60, formerly of St. Marys, died on Saturday, July 14, 2012, in Naples, Fla.
He was born on Nov. 1, 1951, in Celina, to Orville and Maxine (Goodwin) Laffin, and they preceded him in death.
He is survived by a daughter, Kelly (Dave) Kiefer of St. Marys; a son, Erik Laffin of St. Marys; four grandchildren; five siblings, Connie (Harold) Nance of Cincinnati, Bill (Beverly) Laffin of Wapakoneta, Karen (Billy) Smith of Naples, Fla., Rebecca Matthews of Naples, Fla., and Kim Laffin of Lima; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a 1970 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and Good Samaritan Hospital School of Radiology in Cincinnati. He worked in radiology at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima and in the orthopedic surgery center in Naples, Fla. He later worked as lead mechanic at Royal Gardens Poinciana Golf Course in Naples, Fla.
An avid outdoorsman, he returned to his hometown area to hunt deer throughout the various hunting seasons.
Friends are invited to share a time of reflection and celebration of Rex’s life from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel), St. Marys.
