Bath 55, Wapakoneta 36
BATH TOWNSHIP — Bath picked up a 55-36 win over Wapakoneta on Friday night.
By outrebounding the Redskins, 36-18, the Wild Kittens overcame a subpar offensive night to stave off a determined yet frustrated Redskin squad which continually watched Bath get two and some time three shots at scoring by snaring carom after carom. This marks Wapakoneta’s first loss in league play as they fall to 2-1 and even their overall record to 4-4. Bath remains unbeaten in conference play at 3-0 and improves to 9-1 for the season. Sophomore Sara Warner would be the lone Redskin to eclipse the double digit barrier with 15 points. Taylor Dackin led the Wildkittens’ well-balanced attack with 13 points. Emily Ruhe chipped in 12 and Audrey Brandon notched 10.
Celina 45, Defiance 30
CELINA — Celina held Defiance under 10 points in every quarter and improved to 6-2, 2-1 in the WBL. Hillary Heiby led Celina with 10 points. Emily Bihn added nine points and Kylee Bader had eight. Defiance is the lone winless team in the WBL at 0-8, 0-3 in the WBL.
Shawnee 78, O-G 43
OTTAWA — Liz Aller knocked down nine 3-pointers for her game-high 27 points and Shawnee rolled past the Titans in a WBL match-up on Thursday. Shawnee improved to 5-2, 3-0 in the WBL. Kristen Miller paced O-G with 18 points. O-G slumped to 2-7, 0-3 in the WBL.
Van Wert 51, Kenton 36
VAN WERT — The Cougars broke open what was a tied game after the first quarter for their second WBL win. Alex Morrow scored 12 points to lead Van Wert to a 6-4 record, 2-1 in the WBL. Kenton fell to 5-3, 1-2 in the WBL.
Coldwater 52, Parkway 38
COLDWATER — Sarah Kanney’s 19 points led the way for Coldwater as it stayed perfect in the Midwest Athletic Conference. The Cavaliers are 6-2, 3-0 in the MAC.
Becca Harshman, two nights after scoring 41 points, scored 16 points to lead Parkway. The Panthers fell to 4-6, 0-3 in the MAC.
Fort Recovery 54, Versailles 46
Kylie Kahlig’s 14 points paced Fort Recovery in a MAC win over the Tigers on Thursday. The Indians stay tied atop the MAC standings at 7-1, 3-0 in conference play.
