Lewis E. “Ed” Wilgus Jr., 59, of Lima, formerly of Spencerville, died at noon on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at the Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green following surgery.
He was born on March 19, 1952, in Lima, the son of Lewis E. and Margaret I. “Peggy” Cook Wilgus, and they survive him in Bluffton.
On Jan. 6, 1973, he married Penny Ann Wieter, and she survives him.
He is also survived by three sons, Chad Alan Wilgus of St. Marys, Andrew Lee “Andy” (Angela) Wilgus of Conway, Ark., and Joshua Aaron (Jennifer) Wilgus of Van Wert; seven grandchildren; a sister; a brother; a sister-in-law.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with the Rev. Jon Spyker officiating.
Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery, with military rites by the Spencerville Veterans.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
