Ned Temple, 76, of Celina, died at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1935, in Rockford, to Lowell and Helen (Cook) Temple, and they preceded him in death.
On Dec. 29, 1956, he married Janice A. Kolp, and she survives him.
He is also survived by two sons, Tom (Shelly) Temple of Vandalia and Scott Temple of Dayton; two daughters, Valerie (Chris) Anspaugh of Plain City and Sheila (Jim) Hawkins Jr. of Celina; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at W. H. Dick and Sons - Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with the Rev. Kenneth Alt, C.PP.S., officiating. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
