The Minster Wildcats will return to the site of their first-round playoff upset from a season ago, Wapakoneta hits the road in its first playoff appearance since 2006, and nine Western Buckeye League and Midwest Athletic Conference teams (along with Fort Loramie) received first-round playoff assignments on Sunday afternoon.
Div. VI — Minster (7-3) at Springfield Cath. Cent. (8-2) — Saturday, 7 p.m
Minster (7-3) will make its second straight playoff appearance in Division VI, Region 24 and its 11th playoff berth in school history. The Wildcats will play at Springfield Catholic Central (8-2) for the second straight season on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.. Minster upended the Irish in 2010 as an eighth seed, 44-21. Minster is 11-9 all-time in the playoffs and won the 1989 state championship.
Division II — Wapakoneta (9-1) at Franklin (9-1) — Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Wapakoneta (9-1) will travel to Franklin (9-1) on Saturday a week after losing its first game of the season against Kenton and going through the turmoil of an OHSAA investigation. Wapakoneta is 1-4 all-time in the playoffs.
Division V — Coldwater (8-2) at Covington (10-0) — Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Coldwater (8-2) goes into the postseason a fifth-seed after a Week 10 loss to Minster. The Cavaliers will travel to Covington (10-0). Coldwater has won two state titles and been state-runner up four times in school history while going 41-14 in postseason play.
Division VI — Lockland (7-3) at Marion Local (8-2) — Saturday, 7 p.m.
Marion Local (8-2), a four-time state champion and 14-time playoff qualifier, hosts Lockland (7-3) on Friday night.
Division VI — Ott. Hills (7-3) at Delphos St. John's (7-3) — Saturday, 7
Six-time state champion Delphos St. John’s (7-3) will host Toledo Ottawa Hills (7-3). DSJ is 44-7 all-time in postseason play.
Division VI — Cin. Cty. Day (7-3) at Fort Loramie (9-1) — Saturday, 7 p.m.
Fort Loramie earned a home game with a 9-1 regular season. The Redskins host Cincinnati Country Day (7-3) on Saturday.
Division IV — Wellington (7-3) at Kenton (10-0) — Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Kenton (10-0) will host Wellington (7-3) at Robinson Field on Saturday night at 7 p.m. The Wildcats are 18-6 all-time in the playoffs with two state titles.
Division III — Elida (7-3) at Bellevue (7-3) — Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Elida (7-3) returns to the playoffs for the second straight season in Division III, Region 10. The Bulldogs (7-3) play at Bellevue (7-3) on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
Div. IV — O-G (8-2) at Pemberville Eastwood (10-0) — Saturday, 7 p.m.
Ottawa-Glandorf (8-2) makes its 7th straight playoff appearance when it travels to Pemberville Eastwood (10-0).
Div. V — Liberty-Benton (9-1) at Lima Cent. Cath. (10-0) — Fri., 7:30 p.m.
Division V’s top-ranked Lima Central Catholic T-Birds stroll into the postseason with a 10-0 record. LCC hosts Liberty-Benton (9-1) on Friday night at Lima Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
