Daniel “Dale” Leonard Sr., 85, of Celina, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on June 20, 1926, in Celina, to Charles C. and Bessie P. (Ketcham) Leonard, and they preceded him in death.
On Oct. 10, 1951, he married Mary Joan Whited, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2008.
He is survived by three sons, Dan (Laura) Leonard Jr., Terry (Becky) Leonard and Steve (Ranee) Leonard, all of Celina; two daughters, Debra (Ira) Ralston of Mendon and Cindy (Fred) Pizana of Ligonier, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Williams; two brothers; three sisters; a grandson; a great-granddaughter.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with the Rev. Rick Brosher officiating. Burial will be held at Mercer Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons.
