Defiance 20, Napoleon 13
Defiance's Nick Lopez's six-yard touchdown run with 12 seconds left lifted the Defiance Bulldogs to a 20-13 win over the Napoleon Wildcats on Thursday night in the Maumee River rivalry game.
Defiance junior quarterback Joe Keween's 35-yard pass to Austin Hancock set up the first and goal in the game's final half-minute.
The win means Defiance tied its 2010 win total in the first week of the season. The Bulldogs went 1-9 last season — the program's worst season under 21-year head coach Jerry Buti.
Defiance will host Lima Bath next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
