NEW KNOXVILLE — School fees for the 2011-12 school year at New Knoxville Local Schools will remain similar to last school year, as the New Knoxville Board of Education approved the school fees for the upcoming school year at their meeting Tuesday evening.
Superintendent Kim Waterman noted that there will only be an increase in fees for two subjects, while a few fees were reduced.
“The only things that went up were art, which went up $3, and photography went up $3,” Waterman said. “Those are the only things that went up. There were a few things that went down, but not too many. Mainly, everything just stayed at the status quo.”
Board members also voted to approve a new contract with Tri Star Career Compact. The new agreement will be valid from Sept. 1 through July 31, 2016. Waterman noted that New Knoxville Local School has had a contract with Tri Star since 1983 and has had a long, successful relationship with the entity.
Board members entered executive session to discuss administrative compensation. Upon reconvening, board members voted to adjust Treasurer Marcia Wierwille’s contract days from 260 to 255, and to add an additional year to Principle Linda Tebbe’s contract and to increase her salary by 1.5 percent. President Stan Reineke noted that the board decided to keep Waterman’s contract at the “status quo.”
In other business, board members:
• Approved the meeting minutes for June 27.
• Approved the financial report for June 2011.
• Approved the purchase of a scan tool for the automotives class at Tri-Star.
• Approved Nickle’s Bakery as the bread supplier for the 2011-12 school year.
