Zane Miller, 86, of 102 Ohio St., St. Marys, was found dead at his residence on Monday, March 11, 2013.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1926, in Mendon, the son of George and Ruth (Baker) Miller.
He married Geraldine McMullen on Oct. 16, 1944, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 5, 1997.
He is survived by his two sons, Blaine Miller of Dayton and David (Evelyn) Miller of St. Marys; by 11 grandchildren, Michelle Mudge, Terri Miller, Dane Miller, Amy Reed-Early, Christa Miller, Angel Nuhfer, Nicole Jackson, Blain Michael Miller, Lacey Connor, Kelsey Miller and Greg Geiger; by eight great-grandchildren; by two sisters, LaVere Revolt of St. Marys and Faye Jenkins of St. Marys.
Zane was preceded in death by his parents; wife; his daughter, Cindra Reed; by two brothers and four sisters.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. He retired from the City of St. Marys Power Plant, where he was a maintenance technician.
He attended St. Marys Church of God. He loved gardening, woodworking, fishing and watching his favorite TV shows.
Private family burial rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High St., St. Marys, the Rev. Judy Baker, officiant.
Burial rites, with full military honors, will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
