Woman Pulled From River

November 1, 2012

ST. MARYS — A St. Marys woman was pulled from the St. Marys River Thursday afternoon by several local law enforcement officials.

At approximately 1:40 p.m. Thursday, a 911 call was placed reporting a woman was floating in the St. Marys River, between South and Spring streets. Several local law enforcement officials jumped into the river to help pull the woman to the bank of the river near the city administration office.

Once the woman was pulled onto land, she was taken by St. Marys Fire and Rescue Squad to the hospital. Local law enforcement officials declined to release the woman's name and did not have an update on her condition. Officials also did not know how the woman ended up in the river or how long she had been in the water.
