William Novin, 81, of Celina, died on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on June 5, 1930. in Zeigler, Ill., to Michael and Mary (Gulish) Novin, and they preceded him in death.
On Feb. 19, 1952, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Oregon, he married Patricia Daney, and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Meg (Charles) Pearson of Skiatook, Okla., and Mary (David) Hone of Celina; a son, Michael (Stephanie) Novin of Westminster, Colo.; four grandchildren, Janelle Irish-Sanders, Elizabeth Irish, Kristine Hone and Dalton Hone; a sister, Ethel (Robert) Derkensmeyer of Williston; a brother, Ray Novin of Curtice.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Patricia Novin.
He was a 1949 graduate of Clay High School in Oregon.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a 2nd Lt. in the 3rd Armored Division during the Korean War.
He retired as plant superintendent and manager of quality control from the St. Marys Foundry Co.
Private services will be held. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
