William H. Frey, 66

William H. Frey, 66, of 5840 Botkins Road, New Knoxville, died suddenly at 7:01 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, in the Emergency Department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home.

He was born on March 19, 1947, in Piqua,  the son of Walter and Madella (Fischbach) Frey.

He married Sandra Kuenning on Sept. 2, 1967, and she survives at the residence.

Bill is also survived by his son, David (Susan) Frey of New Bremen; by two grandchildren, Amanda (fiance Brian Wisener) Frey of New Bremen and Ashley Frey of New Bremen; by a brother, James (Joanie) Frey of St. Marys.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill was a 1965 graduate of New Bremen High School. He attended Ohio Northern University and graduated from and  earned his master’s degree from Wright State University.

Bill was employed at United Rehabilitation Services of Greater Dayton. He had also taught at UNOH in Lima for 20 years.

He had served on various church boards over the years, including the Zion Church in New Bremen, and  Living Hope Assembly of God in St. Marys.

He was currently attending the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St. Marys.

In his spare time Bill enjoyed his three Dachshunds and working in his workshop.

He will be remembered as a very loving husband and father who’s greatest joy was his family, especially his granddaughters.

Funeral rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys, the Rev. Jon Kraner and Rev. Randy McKinney and Brian Wisener, officiants.

Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to the Gideons International. Condolences may be sent to Bill’s family via MillerFuneralHomes.net .
