Wilda Miars, 85

Wilda Miars, 85, formerly of 04521 Auglaize County Road 33-A in St. Marys, died at 9:12 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Memorial Hospital of Union County in Marysville.

She was born on March 18, 1927, in St. Marys, to Vernon and Ireta (Seib) Schmehl.

On May 24, 1947, she married Gail V. Miars, who died on Sept. 20, 1995.

She is survived by a four daughters, Barbara Ellen (Thomas) Langsdon  of Louisville, Ky., Karen (Dewayne) Joseph of Celina, Joyce (Rodney) Moon of Marysville, Nancy Miars of Hilliard; two sons, Darrell (Karen) Miars of Portland, Ore., Russell (Pam) Miars of Portland, Ore.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Jean) Schmehl of St. Marys.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Ireta Schmehl; her husband,  Gail Miars; a son, Mark Miars; a brother, Lee Schmehl; a grandson, Andrew Miars.

She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.

She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys.

Her favorite pastimes included: Spending time with her family and Molly her cat, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and watching soap operas.

Rites are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Homer 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys, with the Rev. Bill Maki officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
