Wilbur W. Warner, 90

Wilbur W. Warner, 90, of 1110 Nagel St., St. Marys, died at 9:07 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

He was born on Nov. 19, 1921, in New Bremen, the son of Raleigh and Flora (Lutterbein) Warner, and they preceded him in death.

On June 4, 1949, he married Jean Blank, and she survives at the residence.

He is also survived by his daughter, Mary (James) Bell of Evanston, Ill.; two grandchildren, Jonathan W. Bell of Evanston, Ill., and Elizabeth M. Bell of Evanston, Ill.; two sisters, Vera (Guy) Schmidt of Celina and Evelyn Heinfeld of Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Edwin Warner.

Wilbur was a 1939 graduate of New Bremen High School. He retired as the manager of Auglaize Landmark grain elevator in New Bremen, New Knoxville and St. Marys. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church in St. Marys. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and making toys for children. He loved spending time with his family.

Funeral rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., St. Marys, with the Rev. Ed Bray officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, where memorial gifts may be given to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, to Joint Township Palliative Care Service or to the Cardiac Care Center of the Cleveland Clinic.
