MINSTER 41, ANNA 34
MINSTER— Minster pulled off a dramatic 41-34 win over the Anna Rockets.
Eli Wolf ripped apart the Rocket defense for four touchdowns, two two-point conversions and an interception on the Minster two-yard line sealing the victory.
The junior made the game's marquee play as Wolf snatched the ball out the air, broke free and was gone 85-yards, for six points with 1:46 left in the game. Wolf also converted the two point conversion and the Cats were back on top 41-34.
On their next possession Anna fumbled the ball back to Minster, but just needing to run out the clock the Cats returned the favor and the Rockets still had life. This time Anna diced up the Minster defense, getting to the Cats 10 yard line. That is when Eli Wolf made one more play. picking off a pass and sealing the deal.
WAPAKONETA 52, DEFIANCE 7
DEFIANCE — By the time the game experienced its first downpour, the Wapakoneta Redskins had already rained 28 points on the scoreboard. The Redskins scored four touchdowns a little more than 15 minutes of game action and then added a special teams TD to stabilize the rout early in Friday’s football contest against the Defiance Bulldogs.
Defiance committed five turnovers in the loss Friday.
Wapak junior cornerback Quinn Lotridge recorded two interceptions, while sophomore defensive end Corey Crawford, senior Logan Martin and Morgan each recovered one fumble. Lotridge now has six interceptions this season.
The Redskins tallied 296 rushing yards.
Wapak (5-1, 4-1) will make another road trip in WBL play next Friday, as the Redskins will take on the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans (3-3, 2-3).
FORT RECOVERY 24, NEW BREMEN 6
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery Indians rushed for 334 yards and got a couple of fourth quarter touchdowns to pull away from the New Bremen Cardinals 24-6 in front of a homecoming crowd Friday night at Fort Recovery.
New Bremen had chances in the first quarter to score touchdowns and couldn’t finish off drives. New Bremen couldn’t punch it in from two yards, 11 yards and six yard line of Fort Recovery in the first quarter.
“It is very, very frustrating,” Cardinals head coach Jason McGaharan said. “We really pushed our redzone offense in practice this week and really focused on finishing off drives."Garrett Westerbeck rushed 19 times for 106 yards for New Bremen.
The Cardinals (0-6, 0-5) will entertain Versailles next Friday, while Fort Recovery (3-3, 1-2) will travel to Delphos St. John’s next Friday.
KENTON 34, OTTAWA-GLANDORF 10
KENTON — Kenton quarterback Grant Sherman threw for 495 yards and five touchdowns as the Wildcats rolled over the Titans in a match-up of two of the best programs in the Western Buckeye League.
Kenton receiver Justin Sawmiller had 14 catches for 185 yards while Colyn Blackford had 15 catches for 149 yards.
COLDWATER 35, ST. HENRY 6
Duel-threat quarterback Brody Hoying had another huge night and Coldwater's winning streak in this rivalry game reached 18.
Hoying went 10 of 11 passing for 174 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 136 yards and two touchdowns.
The Cavaliers had 405 total yards of offense.View more articles in:
