In their fourth straight win in the early stages of the 1961-62 basketball campaign, the New Bremen Cardinals pounded Newton, 78-63 at New Bremen High School.  Senior Dan Nedderman paced his team in scoring once again, as the six-foot senior notched 26 points in the victory.  Jim Fark added 21 points, while Roger Bornhorst chipped in nine field goals and a free throw for his total of 19 points.  New Bremen jumped in front 18-12 at the end of the first period and maintained their six-point lead through halftime, 36-30.  They outscored Newton 17-12 in the third period before extending their advantage by four more points in the last quarter to pick up the 15-point victory.
