Wednesday Area Sports Round-Up

Dodging the raindrops, Versailles defeated the New Knoxville boys golf team 158-205 on Wednesday at Arrowhead Golf Club. Versailles’ Ryan Knapke earned medalist honors with a one-over par 37. Mitchell Stover added a 38. Griffen Reigle had a 41 and Tyler Drees shot a 42 for the Tigers. Shane Topp led New Knoxville with a 47. Brandon Steinke added 49. David Boesche shot a 50. Robert Egbert carded a 59 for the Rangers. New Knoxville’s record went to 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. New Knoxville travels to Coldwater on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. MAC match.

GIRLS GOLF
MINSTER 200, RUSSIA 200

The Minster girls golf team edged the Russia Raiders 200-203 on Tuesday at Arrowhead Golf Club. Minster’s Claire Fischer tied for medalist honors with a 43. Marissa Conrad carded a 44. Abby Hausfel added a 47, and Sarah Huwer had a 66.
Minster travels to Wapakoneta on Friday for a 4 p.m. match.

WAPAK 191, SHAWNEE 196
The Wapakoneta girls golf team earned a 191-196 win over Shawnee on Wednesday at Oak’s Golf Club. Wapak senior Shelby Kohler was Wednesday’s match medalist with a nine-hole score of 43. Zoe Rayburn had a 49, as did Sierra Sammons. Haley Kinstle posted a 50. Jennifer Mitchell had a 45 to lead Shawnee.
Haleigh Jordan and McKenzie and Whitaker each notched 47, and Bailey Gillen shot 57.
