Weather pushes back tourney games, WBL track meet

Many of Wednesday’s area sporting events were moved to Thursday because of rain, including the first day of the Western Buckeye League track and field championships and tournament softball and baseball games.

The first day of the Division II sectional tennis tournament at UNOH scheduled for Thursday night was moved to Friday.
 

WBL Track - The WBL track meet, which was scheduled to stage its first day of field events, 3200 meter relay final and running preliminaries at Celina on Wednesday, will now begin on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The finals are still scheduled for Friday evening at Celina.

Division II - Sectional Softball

The St. Marys at Napoleon Division II sectional semifinal softball game was postponed because of inclement weather for the second straight day. The game will be played tonight at 5 p.m. in Napoleon, located 50 miles north of Lima in Henry County.

The winner of the game will play at Wapakoneta for a sectional title on Friday at 5 p.m. Napoleon’s softball facility is located at the high school at 701 Briarheath Drive in Napoleon.

Sectional Baseball

The New Bremen at Crestview sectional title game in Convoy was postponed on Wednesday and will now be played tonight at 5 p.m.
