Wayne Heindel, 75

Wayne Heindel, 75, of Rockford, died at 5:50 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert, of natural causes.

He was born on March 7, 1937, in Celina, to Ted Heindel and Lucille Hone, who preceded him in death. On June 21, 1959, he married Dories Heidt, who survives him.

He is also survived by a son, Allen (Mary) Heindel of Celina; a daughter, Alane (Nick) Johnson of New Haven, Ind.; a brother, Keith (Crista) Heindel of Celina; a sister, Geraldine (James) Miracle of Celina; four grandchildren; eight great-granchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Scott Heindel and Bryan Heindel.

Wayne was a farmer and he attended Grace Missionary Church and he was a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau. He was a 1955 graduate of Celina High School.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Bruce Head officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens.

Calling hours will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chisco Funeral Home, Celina, and one hour before services at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Operation Christmas Child or to the Gideons.
