VOLLEYBALL: New Bremen rolls past Botkins in three

NEW BREMEN — The New Bremen Cardinals volleyball team picked up their first victory of the season Monday evening as they defeated the Botkins Trojans in three games 25-11, 25-14 and 25-21.

Amber Paul and Julie Brown led the serving with eight service points each.

The Cardinals had 33 kills, led by Victoria Wente with nine.

Meagan Brandt had 11 dig and Karli Jones had 17 assists.

“I thought they played well tonight, but we still have things to work on,” New Bremen head coach Theresa Jenkins said. “I thought we were able to roll with the punches pretty well tonight.”

In the JV match New Bremen won 25-12 and 25-16.

New Bremen (1-1) will play their first MAC match on Thursday when they host Marion Local beginning at 5:30 p.m.
