Vivian A. Gilbert, 69, of 409 Webb St., St. Marys, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at her residence.
She was born on May 13, 1943, in Mercer County.
On June 27, 1970, she married Johnny “Gene” Gilbert, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2000.
She is survived by two sons, Kirt Gilbert of St. Marys and Brian (Chris Newman) Gilbert of Cridersville; three stepchildren, Michael Gilbert of St. Marys, John Stanziola of Celina and Chris Stanziola of Celina; three stepgrandchildren; a sister, Naomi Sollman of St. Marys; a niece, June (Dale) Hackemoeller of Minster; a nephew, Karl Sollman of St. Marys; four great-nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Alton and Ruth (Poppe) Binkley.
She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and Frederick’s Beauty College in Lima. She was a retired production employee from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in St. Marys.
Her favorite pastimes included fishing, playing cards and board games and going to garage sales.
Rites are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 201 N. Perry St., St. Marys, with the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel), St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul’s UCC or to the Cancer Association of Auglaize County.
