Vivian E. Elshoff, 96

Vivian E. Elshoff, 96, of Lake City, Fla. and formerly of New Knoxville, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at the Haven Hospice at the Swaney Valley Care Center in Lake City, Fla.  

She was born on July 9, 1917, in New Knoxville.  

She was the daughter of George and Sarah (Holtkamp) Fledderjohann.  

On Aug. 31, 1940, she married Calvin G. Elshoff, who died on Feb. 13, 2009.  

Survivors include her son, Larry Elshoff of Lake City, Fla.; her daughter, Donna (Stuart) Brown of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her granddaughters, Heather Brown of Maricupa, Ariz. and Melissa Brown of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.  

Preceding her in death were her siblings, Cervanus Fledderjohann, Elmer Fledderjohann, Raymond Fledderjohann, Adelma Warner, Norma Kettler and Geraldine Roediger.

Mrs. Elshoff was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, where she had played the piano for the Sunday school and was active in the Southside Baptist Church of Lake City, Fla. She was a member of the  New Knoxville Historical Society. She enjoyed playing her keyboard, working word and picture puzzles and going out to eat at local restaurants. She was a homemaker but for a number of years worked at the former Kellermeyer’s Men’s Ware of St. Marys and worked at the Wardrobe when living in California.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funerl Home in New Bremen, the Rev. Dr. David Williams officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery of New Knoxville.

Calling hours will be from noon until the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.
