Virginia V. Fry, 93

Virginia V. Fry, 93, of Wapakoneta, died at 10:15 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at the Wapakoneta Manor.

She was born on Dec. 3, 1918, in Logan Township, Auglaize County, the daughter of William and Blanche (McCord) Cook, and they preceded her in death.

On June 20, 1940, she married Robert E. Fry, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 2008.  

She is survived by three sons, Robert E. (Carla) Fry Jr. of Columbus, David W. (Donna) Fry of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Mark D. Fry of Wapakoneta; six grandchildren, Bryan (fiancee Amanda Jacobs) Fry of Columbus, Bradley (Janine) Fry of Essen, Germany, Alyssa Fry of Columbus, Jennifer Fry of Scottsdale, Ariz., Lori Fry of San Diego, Calif., and Justin Fry of Wapakoneta; two great-grandchildren, Lukas Fry and Austin Fry of Essen, Germany; a brother, Kenneth Cook of Lima.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Doris Brookhart, Norma Doering, Donna Place and Mary Helen Cook.

A homemaker, Virginia was a member of the Buckland United Church of Christ, where she enjoyed participating in the CCC Sunday school class and serving as the Sunday school pianist. She was a 1936 graduate of Buckland High School and enjoyed doing hand work, traveling and being with her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Adrian Sunday officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
