Virginia L. Wienken, 85

Virginia L. Wienken, 85, of Spencerville, died at 1:25 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center following a short illness.

She was born on July 4, 1926, in Kenton, a daughter of Elmer and Mae Clausen Jones, who are deceased. On July 24, 1950, she married William M. “Bill” Wienken, who died on April 11, 2002.

She is survived by two sons, Michael “Mike” Wienken and David “Dave” (Robin) Wienken, both of Spencerville; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; three sisters; five sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Spencerville, with the Rev. Stephen J. Blum officiating. Burial will follow in Spencerville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, where the VFW Auxiliary services will be at 7:30 p.m. and a parish wake service at 7:45 p.m., both on

Sunday.

Memorials may be made to the St. Patrick Church.
