Village To Look At Dog Park

March 14, 2012

NEW BREMEN — A local village is looking for its residents’ opinions on whether to add a dog park to its lands.

“We’ve gotten some responses, but we’d like to get more,” Councilor Denny Burnell said.

He noted he and fellow Councilor John Schwartz have a few sites they are thinking about in the village to put a possible dog park, but they are hoping to hear what their fellow residents think about the proposal.

“John and I talked about it,” Burnell said. “My son lives in Charleston, S.C., — they have about six out there. When he was here during Christmas, we took his dog over to the football field.”

Burnell noted he had spoken with Schwartz about a possible site — where owners can let their dog run inside a fenced in area — in the past.

“They can call the village and let them know what they think about,” Burnell said of residents.

Residents can comment by calling the village office at 419-629-2447 or by e-mailing newbremen@nktelco.net.
