Wilma M. Savage, 86, 517 Southway Drive in St. Marys, died at 8:44 p.m. Thursday Aug. 21, 2008, at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 7, 1922, in rural Mercer County, a daughter of George and Ruth (Baker) Miller and they preceded her in death. On Sept. 24, 1927, she married Ronald M. Savage Sr., and he survives. She is also survived by four children, Jim (Maria) Sullivan of Celina, Ruth Ann (Lewis) Sell of St. Marys, Ronald (Anita) Savage Jr., of St. Marys and Duane Savage of St. Marys; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Lavere Alexander of St. Marys, Zane Miller of St. Marys, Faye Jenkins of St. Marys and Verla Gray of Celina. She was also preceded in death by an infant son; a granddaughter, Kendra Sullivan; two great-granddaughters, Zoa Sell and Destiny Sullivan; two brothers, Wayne Miller and Doyt Miller; two sisters, Nadine Dickerson and Ila Slemmons. She was a homemaker, and had worked at the former DWG Cigar Factory and the former St. Marys Cotton Mill. Her entire life was devoted to her family, and she derived great joy from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today at the Miller Funeral Home, Ohio 703 West Chapel, in St. Marys, with the Rev. Mark Foor, officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery, in St. Marys. Visitation will be held from noon until time of services today at the funeral home.
