Evelyn I. “Evie” Baker, 78, of Wapakoneta, died at 1:06 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2008, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Merrill, Mich., a daughter of Earl and Florence (Johnson) Weburg, and they preceded her in death. On Aug. 15, 1953, she married Bob Baker, and he preceded her in death Sept. 7, 1977. She is survived by two children, Tina (Charles) Gasperetti and Doug (Diane) Baker, both of Lima; six grandchildren; a sister; three sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother; and a sister. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, at the Salem United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Greg Roberts officiating. Burial is to follow in the Willow Branch Cemetery, near Waynesfield. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta, and one hour before the service, Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Salem United Methodist Church. |
