Thomas Alfred Monfort, 71, died at 3:30 a.m., Thursday July 3, 2008 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 29, 1936, a son of J. Ross and Carrie (Dixon) Monfort, and they preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 51 1/1 years, Linda Hall Monfort, and she survives in Spencerville; three sons, Thomas (Risa) Monfort of Anna, Timothy (Marcy) Monfort of Sidney, Richard (Shelly) Monfort of Winchester, Ind.; two daughters, Sally (Allen) McMichael of Spencerville, Tammy (Bruce) Rodden of Spencerville; three sisters; 19 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1954 to 1956.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with the Rev. Harry Peterson of Sidney, officiating. Burial will follow in the Hartford Cemetery in Spencerville.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's and the Parkinson's associations in care of the funeral home.
